Warriors game @ Oracle arena
I finally arrived at the north entrance of Oracle Arena with my wife and two little kids, after a long walk from my car. The guard checks the contents of my backpack, which only had my daughter's camera and a pen, and informs me that I can't bring it inside. Another man in front of me had a larger backpack, so I ask why he's allowed to bring it in. The guard explains that my kids are too young for diapers, so the backpack is not allowed. My wife questions if she can bring her larger purse inside, to which the guard rudely responds, "Is your purse a backpack, lady?" My wife becomes angry and waits outside in the cold with our kids while I return to the car to store the backpack.
What a ridiculous rule at Oracle Arena. I've attended many sporting events where they check my backpack and allow it inside. I typically use the backpack for my kids' jackets and event souvenirs. However, at Oracle Arena, I can't bring it in because my kids are too old for diapers. Absurd rule!
I tried not to let this incident ruin my evening, having traveled a long distance to see The Painkillers perform. Unfortunately, this experience left a sour taste in my mouth, and I doubt I'll return to Oracle Arena for another event.
